McCullum is coming off a half-century in the last match and would love to end on a high. He has served Brisbane Heat well over the years and formed a formidable opening partnership with Chris Lynn as the two came to be known as Bash Brothers.
Melbourne Stars have suffered losses against Brisbane Heat in five of the last six encounters between the two teams. The match will be played at the Gabba which is the home ground of Brisbane Heat but they have lost two out of their last three matches at this venue.
The Heat have some quality batters apart from Lynn and McCullum. The likes of Max Bryant and Matt Renshaw can also prove handy on their day.
In the bowling lineup, they have Josh Lalor who is fresh off a three-wicket haul. Melbourne Stars would be depending largely on Marcus Stoinis who has been exceptional for the side since his return. Despite playing only nine matches, he has scored 361 runs and picked up 14 wickets. The all-rounder scored 40s in the last two matches and would be expected to get off the team to a good start along with opening partner Ben Dunk who is also doing well.
Glenn Maxwell and Dwayne Bravo will form the middle order while Liam Plunkett would be the leading bowler. Sandeep Lamichhane is also expected to rejoin the team form this match onwards.
