Hampshire and Nottinghamshire will compete against each other at the New Close County Cricket Ground in Newport.

Hampshire have won two and lost one of their three matches. With 50 points, they are at the third spot in the Division One points table. On the contrary, Nottinghamshire have lost two and have drawn one of their three matches and are placed at the second last spot in Division One. The team has only 19 points.

Hampshire got their County Championship campaign to a great start with a blistering innings and 87 run win over Essex in the opening match of the tournament. However, they got a taste of their own medicine, losing their second match to Yorkshire by an innings and 44 runs.

The team came back strongly in their third and last match to win by 314 runs. Wicketkeeper Tom Alsop smashed 150 in the first innings in that match. On the back of half-centuries from Oliver Soames, captain Sam Northeast and Rilee Rossouw, the team won the match comfortably in the end. With six wickets in the match, Kyle Abbott played a big part in that win.

Notts drew their first match against Yorkshire, but suffered an innings defeat against Somerset. Essex, who have not been in good rhythm themselves, succeeded in getting the better of Nottinghamshire in their last match.

Let's have a look at the probable playing XI of both teams.

Hampshire- Joe Weatherley, Oliver Soames, Tom Alsop, Sam Northeast, Rilee Rossouw, Liam Dawson, Aneurin Donald, Gareth Berg, Keith Barker, Kyle Abbott, Fidel Edwards

Nottinghamshire- Ben Slater, Ben Duckett, Chris Nash, Joe Clarke, Steven Mullaney, Samit Patel, Tom Moores, Luke Fletcher, Stuart Broad, Zak Chappell, Matthew Carter
