The Knights dominated Central Stags by nine wickets to win the title in the previous season. Central Districts have acquired good form in this match and have won five of their last seven matches. On the contrary, the Knights have faced a bit of a jolt and have lost both of their last two matches.
Northern Knights would be boosted by the return of international stars Tim Seifert, Daryl Mitchell, Scott Kuggeleijn and Ish Sodhi, all of whom missed the last game because of international commitments.
Mitchell has been in good form in the tournament till now and has scored 318 runs. He along with Brett Hampton scored half-centuries in the last encounter against the Stags and will be expected to repeat their performances. Tim Seifert and Corey Anderson are the other utility players that the team has.
Among the bowlers, Scott Kuggeleijn, lsh Sodhi, Kyle Abbott and Neil Wagner will lead the charge. Despite not very impressive performances at the international stage, Kuggeleijn remains one of the most successful bowlers for the team.
As for Central Districts, they would be affected by the injuries to Josh Clarkson and Blair Tickner, both of whom were not able to make the final XI in the last match.
Tom Bruce and Will Young have carried the responsibility of the batting on their shoulders. Both have in excess of 300 runs and are among the tournament's top run-getters. Dean Foxcroft has also scored three half-centuries and has been timing the ball well.
In the bowling department, Seth Rance, Ajaz Patel and Ben Wheeler would be their wicket-taking options. Ajaz Patel provides great variety for the team as a left-arm spinner and picked up four wickets against Otago earlier.
