Online Cricket Betting Tips and Match Predictions - ICC Cricket World Cup - South Africa v India
India will start their World Cup campaign against South Africa, who are not in good rhythm after losing both their matches of the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup.
The match will be played at The Rose Bowl in Southampton which offers a lot of runs. The last match that was played at this venue was the second ODI between England and Pakistan, where England posted 373 runs on the board and Pakistan replied with 361, losing the match by a close margin of 12 runs.
India and South Africa have clashed against each other in ODIs for a total of 83 times, out of which, India has won 34 times, while South Africa have one 46 times. The last time that two teams met was in a bilateral seven-match ODI series hosted by South Africa, when India defeated the Proteas in a dominant fashion by a 5-1 margin.
In that series, it were the Indian wrist spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal, who bamboozled the South African batsmen as they failed to pick them time and again, getting bowled out cheaply on multiple occasions.
However, given the conditions at Southampton, India might decide to either go with both wrist spinners or with Kuldeep Yadav, alongside Bhuvneshwar Kumar to provide themselves with more options in the pace department.
With both Lungi Ngidi and Dale Steyn injured, South Africa are not left with many options. They might give the left-arm wrist spinner Tabraiz Shamsi a go. However, that might not prove to be a very fruitful option against India.
Let's have a look at the probable playing XI of both teams:
India- Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, MS Dhoni, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Kuldeep Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar/Yuzvendra Chahal
South Africa- Quinton de Kock, Hashim Amla/Aiden Markram, Faf du Plessis, Rassie van der Dussen, JP Duminy, David Miller, Chris Morris, Andile Phehlukwayo, Kagiso Rabada, Dwayne Pretorius/Tabraiz Shamsi, Imran Tahir
