Online Cricket Betting Tips and Match Predictions - New Zealand v India 3rd ODI
Quite surprisingly, New Zealand have been no match for India in the first two matches of the five-match ODI series.
After winning the toss, India decided to bat first in the 2nd ODI in order to challenge itself, in the words of Virat Kohli. The openers did justice to the faith of the captain as both Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma smashed dominating half-centuries and set a great platform. However, neither could convert it into a big hundred.
Virat Kohli and Ambati Rayudu then scored 40s to further setup the match for the middle order to launch an attack in the slog overs. However, that actually never happened. India, who were well on their path to around 350 at one point were pulled back by some great death bowling from Lockie Ferguson and Trent Boult. A cameo from Kedar Jadhav and some explosive shots from MS Dhoni ensured that India reached a somewhat par score of 324.
In reply, the New Zealand innings never really got going as they lost wickets at regular intervals. The Kiwi batsmen would have to find a way to face the Indian spin twins as they look all at sea against Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal.
If it was not for the half-century from bowling all-rounder Doug Bracewell, the margin of defeat would have looked even more stark. Although India ultimately won the 2nd ODI by 90 runs, the game was done and dusted much earlier.
India would have a golden opportunity to seal the series with another win at Mount Maunganui on Monday.
