Reeza Hendricks and Janneman Malan gave the team a solid start but both scored at around run a ball and acceleration was required. It was provided perfectly by Rassie van der Dussen and skipper David Miller. Miller, in particular, blasted the Pakistani bowling lineup with four fours and five sixes.
Chasing a target of 189, Pakistan were given a solid start by Babar Azam who looked in complete control before he was dismissed by Beruan Hendricks. Hussain Talat also scored a half-century but he was a bit slow to get off the blocks.
It was looking at one point that Pakistan would comfortably get over the line but that was not to happen as the middle order failed to contribute and the team fell short by seven runs.
Usman Shinwari is having trouble with his delivery stride and bowled some no-balls in the last match. For South Africa, a lot of their players are contributing to the team's cause. Chris Morris took two wickets in the last match while Andile Phehlukwayo was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets.
With the series lost, Pakistan would definitely like to finish the tour on a high. If they bat first and try to turn things around a bit, the result can also be a different one.
Let's have a look at the probable playing XI of both teams.
