After Dambulla where England defeated Sri Lanka by 31 runs courtesy of DLS method, the caravan now moves to Pallekele for the 3rd ODI of the five match series.

Conditions in Pallekele are expected to be much better for cricket. There is no forecast of threatening rain and the fans are expected to get full hundred over for the first time on this England tour.

The most worrying sign for Sri Lanka from the 2nd ODI is that their spinners in Akila Dananjaya and Lakshan Sandakan have not looked threatening at all. However, they will take some heart from the fact that Lasith Malinga rolled back the years with his on-point death bowling in the last match.

After a couple of mild outings, it is also time for English openers Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow to come to their best. Eoin Morgan and Joe Root remain the mainstays of the English batting lineup. They will also expect Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler to give them some quick-fire runs lower down the order.

The other cause of worry for Sri Lanka is that their top order has not been able to fire since a long time. Kusal Perera, Dhananjaya De Silva and Thisara Perera looked the most convincing Lankan batsmen in the last match. Senior player Upul Tharanga and newly appointed captain Dinesh Chandimal would surely like to make a mark in this match.

Let's have a look at the predicted playing XI of both teams.

Sri Lanka- Upul Tharanga, Niroshan Dickwella, Kusal Perera, Dinesh Chandimal (c), Dhananjaya de Silva, Dasun Shanaka, Thisara Perera, Akila Dananjaya, Lasith Malinga, Nuwan Pradeep, Lakshan Sandakan
