Pakistan Bowling Is 'Finished' Without Ajmal - Rashid Latif
Rashid also rued the damages caused to Pakistan’s prospects at the forthcoming 2015 Cricket World Cup due to the outcome of recent events.
"[Pakistan] bowling is finished without Ajmal," said Latif, while speaking to Cricket Australia’s official website.
Saeed Ajmal, who was earlier today suspended from bowling by the International Cricket Council (ICC), for an illegal action is now bound to stay out of the game for next few months.
According to Latif, not enough time has been left before the World Cup for Ajmal to remodel his bowling action and undergo another test to get cleared by the ICC.
Overly depending upon Ajmal, Pakistan has failed to groom a replacement for the spin wizard which might prove costly.
"The sad part is that we haven't tried any other specialist off-spinner in international matches and now our World Cup plans are severely dented," said Latif.
Latif claims he has had his doubts for quite some time and expected things to unravel against the off-spinner.
"I had doubts for the last few months, because the way he bowls it's hard to get away with at in Test matches," Latif added.
