Pakistan to Visit Leicestershire CCC for T20 Spectacular
Fans of T20 are in for a treat at the Fischer County Ground during the 2019 season as Pakistan visit for a floodlit spectacular on Wednesday, May 1.
Pakistan are one of the most exciting sides in international cricket having won their last 11 T20I series. The most recent of those victories came by a 3-0 margin against New Zealand in Abu Dhabi.
The Pakistan side has a wealth of exciting batting talent including Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Hafeez while slow left armer Imad Wasim and seamer Hasan Ali are quality bowling options.
Ali has recently been bowling alongside Leicestershire CCC overseas star Muhammad Abbas during test series against Australia and New Zealand.
The match will be Pakistan’s only warm-up fixture ahead of the IT20 against England at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff.
Leicestershire CCC Chief Executive Wasim Khan MBE said: “We are really pleased to be chosen to host Pakistan again. A floodlit T20 game promises to be an extremely special occasion at the Fischer County Ground.”
It will be the second time that Leicestershire Foxes have faced international opposition in T20 following a brilliant game against India in 2011.
On that occasion, an India side featuring Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid won by 15 runs against a Leicestershire XI for who now Head Coach Paul Nixon was making his final competitive appearance.
