Perry Inspires Australia To Victory
Australia Women 256 (Bolton 76, Perry 72) beat
West Indies Women 203 by 53 runs
Second One-Day International, Sydney
Ellyse Perry scored a half-century and took three wickets to help Australia Women beat the West Indies Women by 53 runs in the second One-Day International in Sydney.
Nicole Bolton (76) also scored a half-century for the hosts before they were bowled out for 256 at the Hurstville Oval.
Deandra Dottin (4-42) and Hayley Matthews (3-42) were the pick of the bowlers but the West Indians then fell short when they were dismissed for 203.
Matthews, like Perry, enjoyed a fine all-round game by hitting 89 at the top of the order but only her and fellow opener Kycia Knight (45) made much impression.
Perry's three for 42 was well supported by two for 28 from Erin Osborne.
Australia's 2-0 lead in the four-match series puts them in an unassailable series lead and also guarantees they will end the series on top of the ICC Women's Championship standings.
The third ODI is in Bowral on Sunday 16th November.
