Perry Sets Up Another Victory
CA XI Women 128-5 (Perry 62) beat
West Indies Women 122-4 by six runs
Twenty20 warm-up, Canberra
Cricket Australia XI captain Ellyse Perry top scored with 62 during a six-run win over the West Indies Women in the second Twenty20 warm-up game in Canberra.
Perry's half-century set up the home side's score of 128 for five at the Manuka Oval.
16-year-old Hayley Matthews then matched Perry's score, and ended unbeaten, but the West Indies closed just short, on 122 for four.
Rhiannon Dick (26 not out) and Delissa Kimmince (11) were the only other Australians to reach double figures while Perry retired shortly after the CA XI had reached 100.
Anisa Mohammd took three for 19 for the West Indies.
Matthews then batted throughout the run chase, but while she was able to keep her wicket intact, she had very little support until Merissa Aguilleira (15 not out) helped add 54 for the fifth wicket.
After Kycia Knight (11), Britney Cooper (9), Deandra Dottin (1) and Shemaine Campbelle (5) had all fallen cheaply, they had been left with too much to do.
West Indies meet Australia in the first of four Twenty20 Internationals on 2nd November.
CA XI won the first game by nine wickets.
