Perth Scorchers 2019-20 BBL Fixture Release
Perth Scorchers fans are in for a feast of entertainment this summer with the 2019-20 KFC Big Bash League fixtures released today.
A shorter season, more consistent time slots and a stronger finals format shows the League has made changes that will provide fans the best opportunity to experience the BBL.
The first chance to fire up #TheFurnace at Optus Stadium is on the weekend before Christmas, with a Saturday night clash against the defending champions, the Melbourne Renegades.
Boxing Day plans can be locked in again this year with the Scorchers annual Boxing Day blockbuster, this time taking on the Adelaide Strikers.
Out of seven home games at Optus Stadium six are night games starting between 6.10pm to 6.40pm, four are weekend games and the home and away season is wrapped up before the end of school holidays.
General Manager – Commercial, Marketing and Communications, Mr Shay Nasta said;
“It’s a great schedule of home matches for our Scorchers fans this summer and one that is really accessible for families.
“Boxing Day is always a highlight for the club so we are thrilled to be able to retain that fixture and are also looking forward to hosting a pre-Christmas match for the first time since 2016.”
“The league and clubs have listened to the fan feedback by making the regular season fit back within the school holidays and creating a finals series that will provide a thrilling conclusion.”
With 56 games in 42 days it will be a summer of non-stop Big Bash, and Scorchers fans can watch the players during away fixtures on Seven and FoxSports again and listen on 6PR.
The Scorchers will play their first game away on Wednesday 18 December at the SCG against the Sixers, they’ll play in Geelong and the Gold Coast for the first time, and wrap up on Sunday 26 January back in Sydney against the Thunder.
Perth Scorchers Head Coach Adam Voges said;
“The home fixtures are really great for fans in WA to come and support us. We loved playing at Optus Stadium last season, the Scorchers crowd is the best in the country and the stadium really intensifies that experience for the playing group.
“The away fixtures are tough for us but we knew that with a condensed season it was always going to be a busy schedule and we will plan for that.
“Being on the other side of the country always means there is a lot of travel, but we have always prided ourselves on overcoming adversity and getting on with the job.”
WA Cricket membership is offering seven game and four game packages for the Perth Scorchers and go on sale with public tickets on Thursday 15 August at perthscorchers.com.au.
