Perth Scorchers v Adelaide Strikers - Highlights WBBL

A stunning opening partnership between Amy Jones and Meg Lanning has given the Perth Scorchers a convincing victory in Alice Springs today.

Battling searing conditions at Albrecht Park, both teams were fighting for fifth place on the rebel WBBL|04 ladder, with both unable to make the top four after the Melbourne Renegades locked in a finals spot with a win yesterday.

Yesterday's player of the match Sophie Devine (8) fell cheaply early, but Suzie Bates (39) and a late charge from Amanda-Jade Wellington (30 off 12 balls) got the Strikers to a defendable total of 6/140.

Lanning and Jones were a force to be reckoned with after their side's loss on Saturday, forging an unbroken 140-run partnership to see them through to the required total in the 17th over.

The pick of the bowlers for the Strikers was Megan Schutt, conceding just 21 runs form her four overs.
