Pietersen Puts Onus On Batsmen As Harmison Recalled

Kevin Pietersen has asked his batsmen to take more responsibility by recalling Steve Harmison and Stuart Broad for the fourth and final Test against South Africa at The Brit Oval. Ryan Sidebottom has been left out while Michael Vaughan made himself unavailable after his resignation of the captaincy, leaving two spots to fill. All-rounder Ravi Bopara had been widely tipped to replace Vaughan but Pietersen declared himself happier to have four pace bowlers ni the side, meaning that Paul Collingwood will bat at five followed by Andrew Flintoff, Tim Ambrose and Broad. Pietersen admitted that the move was aggressive, although that was tempered by his belief that the wicket will be perfect for batting. Harmison has taken 212 wickets in 58 matches before being dropped during England's tour of New Zealand in March. South Africa lead the series 2-0.
