South Africa have recalled left-arm spinner Robin Peterson and included uncapped pair Temba Bavuma and Kagiso Rabada in their squad to play the West Indies in a three-match series that begins later this month.

Peterson replaces injured off-spinner Dane Piedt and is preferred to leg-spinner Imran Tahir as the only spinner in a 14-man squad.

Fast bowler Rabada made his international debut for South Africa during the recent Twenty20 International series against Australia.

With JP Duminy unavailable due to injury, Bavuma, a right-hand batsman, has been called up and joins fellow uncapped batsman Stiaan van Zyl in the squad.

Duminy may recover in time to feature after the first Test, which begins at Centurion on 17th December.

South Africa Test squad: Hashim Amla (captain), AB de Villiers (vice-captain), Kyle Abbott, Temba Bavuma, Dean Elgar, Quinton de Kock, Morne Morkel, Alviro Petersen, Robin Peterson, Faf du Plessis, Vernon Philander, Kagiso Rabada, Dale Steyn, Stiaan van Zyl
