PSL final set to be played in Lahore
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) affirmed that the 2017 edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) will be held in Lahore.
The PSL is currently in its second edition with United Arab Emirates being the adopted home because of the security concerns in Pakistan.
However, in a bid to bring back cricket back to the country, PCB has decided to host the final of the ongoing edition in Lahore despite a recent terror attack in the city that costed the life of 150 people.
PCB executive committee chairman Najam Sethi revealed that the number of foreign players will be confirmed based on their willingness to travel to Lahore and also the teams that will make it to the final two.
"The nation has shown its passion and unity. The Pakistani nation is peaceful and it will not be blackmailed," Sethi said.
"We have to wait until March 3 to know which foreign players will travel to Lahore, as we still do not know which two teams will qualify," Sethi told reporters.
After the Sri Lankan team bus was attacked in 2009, Zimbabwe has been the only full-member nation to have toured the Asian country in 2015 with Pakistan choosing United Arab Emirates as their adopted home for international cricket as well.
