R Silambarasan's 5-er sets up Kanchi Veerans' 7-wicket win over Madurai Panthers

At 84-2 in the 13th over, Madurai Panthers were going well and looked set for a 150-160 run total but R Silambarasan then wreaked havoc in the middle overs to change the momentum of the match.

After the dismissal of opener and star batsman Arun Karthik in the second over, Madurai Panthers consolidated with good knocks from skipper Shijit Chandran and Jagatheesan Kousik. In fact, a 40-run partnership for the second wicket led the Panthers on a path to launch in the latter part of the innings.

With Kanchi Veerans 32-2 in the sixth over, the Panthers were in the game but a longish partnership between skipper Baba Aparajith and wicketkeeper Suresh Lokeshwar killed the chase.

While Aparajith was dismissed six short of his half-century, Lokeshwar notched up his second fifty of the tournament. Rajgopal Sathish closed the match with a few fireworks.
