Rangpur Riders 55-1 (Charles 46no) v Comilla Victorians
Qualifier 2, Bangladesh Premier League, Dhaka

Heavy and continuous rain at Shere Bangla Stadium in Mirpur has pushed the Qualifier 2 game in the Bangladesh Premier League between Rangpur Riders and Comilla Victorians into the reserve day after only seven overs of play was possible on Sunday.

The game will be continued at 18:00 local time on Monday with Rangpur Riders positioned at 55 for one.

Earlier, it was Comilla Victorians, who won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Johnson Charles (46 not out) struck two apiece of sixes and boundaries in the first four overs to get going but they lost an in-form Chris Gayle (3) to Mahedi Hasan (1-32) in the fifth over.

Nevertheless, Charles continued the onslaught and helped Rangpur Riders reach 45 for one in the powerplay but an over later, rain interrupted with the Riders positioned 55 for one.

Despite the cut-off extended for two hours, the officials decided to resume the game on Monday after a wait close to four hours and wet conditions prevailing.

Charles along with Brendon McCullum (4 not out) will resume the innings for the Riders in the reserve day but a failure to get a result will mean Comilla Victorians will progress to the final to take on Dhaka Dynamites due to their higher rank in group stage.
