Second Test, Mirpur, day five
Scorecard

The second Test between Bangladesh and South Africa in Mirpur ended in a dull draw, after the umpires found the outfield unfit for play on day five due to the heavy rain in the past three days.

This result, following a similar outcome in the first Test, meant that the series was drawn, with both the teams sharing the trophy.

Mushfiqur Rahim was picked as the man of the match for his half-century, whereas Dale Steyn picked up the player-of-the-series award for taking six wickets, which saw him pass the 400-wicket mark in the process.

The effect of this drawn series is that Bangladesh gain six points in the International Cricket Council Test rankings, while South Africa drop five points, but both the teams retain their respective positions on the table.

South Africa will now head home for the series against New Zealand while Bangladesh’s next fixture will be the two-match Test series against Australia at home in October.
