TUTI Patriots 135-8
Kanchi Veerans won by 58 runs
After losing opener Vishal Vaidhya early, S Siddharth and skipper Baba Aparajith had a half-century partnership. After Siddharth's dismissal, Aparajith further stepped on the pedal as the runs started coming quickly.
But it was when Rajagopal Satish came out to bat that the Kanchi Veerans' innings really came of age. He clobered 47 runs from just 19 deliveries with three fours and four sixes at a strike rate of almost 250 to take Kanchi Veerans to 193, which was pretty much out of the reach of TUTI Patriots.
After a flying start with the Patriots past the 30-run mark in the third over, both openers were dismissed, after which the middle order did not make any contribution at all.
Rangaraj Suthesh and K Gowtham Thamarai Kannan shared five wickets among themselves for Kanchi Veerans.
Despite a couple of lower order fighbacks, Patriots were never really in the game as they conceded a huge 58-run defeat.
