Rangpur Riders have been fined for slow over-rate following their clash against the Dhaka Dynamites on Wednesday. The captain, Mashrafe Mortaza has been fined 40 percent of his match fee while the other players received 20 percent fines.

Mortaza accepted the charges, and as a result, no official hearing was required.

The Riders managed to pull off a close contest while defending a 143 runs target against the Dynamites courtesy of some fine death over bowling by Thisara Perera, Lasith Malinga and Mortaza.

Match Referee Samiur Rahman found the Riders to be two overs short of the mark when they exceeded the time limit set for the innings.

In accordance with Article 2.5.1 of the Bangladesh Cricket Board Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel (for minor over-rate offences), players are fined 10 per cent of their match fees for every over their side fail to bowl within the allotted time while the skipper is fined double the amount.
