28th game, Bangladesh Premier League, Chittagong

Thisara Perera held his nerve in a brilliant 14-ball cameo as he helped Rangpur Riders complete a thrilling last ball victory chasing 177 runs against Chittagong Vikings in the 28th game of the Bangladesh Premier League.

Chasing close to nine an over in the chase, Chris Gayle (33) looked good but Brendon McCullum (15) struggled in his 20 ball knock before he was castled by Al-Amin (1-29). Rangpur Riders completed the powerplay with a score of 37 for one.

Mashrafe Mortaza (42) promoted himself up the order to number three and struck three boundaries and a six in his first 12 deliveries to inject some momentum into the innings. Both Mortaza and Gayle further added 18 runs in the ninth over to take the total to 83 for one.

However, both Mortaza and Gayle fell in successive overs that applied brake on the scoring rate before Mohammad Mithun (44) with his 29 ball knock brought the innings back on track while Thisara Perera (28 not out) with his 14 ball brilliance that includes two sixes in the final over helped Rangpur Riders complete the chase off the final ball with three wickets in hand.

Earlier, it was a 40-ball knock from Stiaan van Zyl (68) along with contributions from Soumya Sarkar (30), Sikandar Raza (22) and Najibullah Zadran (25) that helped Chittagong Vikings post 176 for seven in the 20 overs.
