A half-century from wicketkeeper N Jagadeesan helped to set the base for the Dindigul Dragons middle-order batsmen to launch. After his experiments at one drop in the first couple of matches, skipper Ravichandran Ashwin dropped himself to number five in this game and the move paid off.

Ashwin raced to 52 from just 28 balls at a strike rate of more than 185. His knock, assisted by three boundaries from Sumit Jain (26, 16b), took the Dragons to 173, which was a very good score on a slow pitch.

For Tuti Patriots, Sivagnanan Senthilnathan, M Ganesh Moorthi and Tamil Kumaran picked up two wickets each.

TUTI Patriots batmen had a lot of pressure of the required run rate as they came on to bat. As a result, they tried to go very hard but found little success. In fact, none of their top seven batsmen could even reach 20. 30s from lower order players SP Nathan and Ganesh Moorthi only helped to decrease the deficit.

Almost all Dragons' bowlers, apart from M Silambarasan, were effective with Ramalingam Rohit (MoM) picking up three wickets, while Jagannathan Kaushik, Trilok Nag and captain Ravichandran Ashwin bagged two wickets each.
