Return to Cricket: Grantham CC - A Club Diary – Week Six
It’s week six on the ‘Return to Cricket’ road for Grantham CC and the club has progressed well this week despite Covid 19, mixed weather and no news or guidance whatsoever from our governing body. The Lincolnshire Club zoom call tonight for 30 clubs has been cancelled because we have no news.... I think ECB and the Wasters have moved above Boris and the Natural Vectors in the Pop Charts after another productive week.
We are now setting out our policy for Opening the club as a bar and have appointed someone to open the bar from 5 to 9 as a minimum from Wednesday to Saturday and maybe Sunday lunchtimes depending on the weather. First opening is on Thursday 9th July. All we have to do now is buy some stock and hope the sun shines.
Each paid member of the Club with a Membership card can bring household members to the club for drinks and can introduce Social members who can have their own membership card to have their own access to the club and bar. This way we can comply with all the necessary retrospective lists in the case of a new Covid 19 outbreak. An unexpected joy of running a Covid Cricket club. Still the use of the Skedda booking system has been very helpful and it has taken so long we have now had to go beyond our free trial !
We now have a revised provisional fixture list for the first team so that is progress - with the junior festivals in place we are starting to look like some cricket might be played if only the green light would come on!
Test match starts next week which will be interesting to see...
