Rewind To...Jack Brooks predicts Yorkshire victory - Cricket World TV

As Yorkshire celebrate retaining their County Championship crown, take a look back at fast bowler Jack Brooks' pre-season predictions for the White Rose.

He was very confident of success, telling us, "Being a Yorkshire player, I'm going to say we are going to win it."

However, on this occasion he was talking about the NatWest T20 Blast, rather than the County Championship!

The addition of Aaron Finch and Glenn Maxwell might not have done the trick for Yorkshire in the T20 Blast, but they have performed outstandingly to win the LV= County Championship with time to spare.

"We certainly needed a bit of extra bolstering and power in our batting order so hopefully if those guys can come off a few times it'll give us a really good chance," Brooks told us before the T20 Blast got underway.

"I fear for the bowlers that have got to turn up. It's bad enough for me to bowl to people like (Brendon) McCullum and those guys so it's only fair that the opposition have got to bowl at Finch, Maxwell, Bairstow and these guys."

Perhaps if the likes of McCullum had been on hand to bat against Brooks and his fellow bowlers, the race for the title might still be alive, but given how dominant Yorkshire have been, it might not have made any difference.

And just for a bit of fun, here's Brooks calling our team of Alastair Symondson and Peter Steward the "Mitchell brothers":
