Rockhampton Cricket Club was founded as far back as 1872 and despite the ups, the downs, the trials and tribulations that any sporting institution undergoes, the club are now enjoying life at the highest level they have ever competed – West of England Premier League, Glos/Wilts Division.
As a “GCB Focus Club” and a community cricketing centre of excellence, the club now boasts 3 Saturday league teams, 2 grounds, 2 Sunday teams, midweek team and a flourishing youth setup from U9 upwards. The clubs facilities are without doubt among the best in the county and it is because of this that we host various Gloucestershire representative matches, not to mention our magnificent new skittle alley being hired throughout most of the year.
It’s fair to say that “The Rams” finest moment came as recently as September 2013, when we reached the National Village Knockout Final at Lords. Sadly we ended up losing by one wicket but it is a day that will long live in the memory of both the players and the hundreds of fans who made the trip.
