Scorecard

A powerful innings from Rohit Sharma 85 powered India to a convincing win over Bangladesh after they had posted a modest 153-6 in their 20 overs batting first. Rohit was eying his 5th T20I century in his 100th T20I but fell short by 15 runs.

Bangladesh were leading the three-match T20 Series 1-0 and the pressure was always on India. It's already difficult to come back after being one down in a three-match series. With the way Bangladesh openers Liton Das (29) and Mohammad Naim (36) kicked off their inning, the pressure only mounted further.

Bangladesh were 54 for no loss at the end of the powerplay and looked good for a 170-180 total. However, a couple of quick wickets from Yuzvendra Chahal helped change the flow of the match.

The visitors couldn't really capitalise on the start in the final few overs and could only manage 153-6, which was clearly a below par total given the flat surface in Rajkot.

Deepak Chahar, Washington Sundar and Yuzvendra Chahal were India's leading bowlers. While Chahar and Sundar were economical, the leg-spinner proved the leading wicket-taking option for India.

In return, Rohit Sharma came out with a purpose and looked to take on the bowlers from the start, hitting 3 consecutive sixes after reaching his half-century. Rohit was eying his 5th T20I century in his 100th T20I but fell short by 15 runs.

Shikhar Dhawan acted as a foil to Rohit with a 27-ball 31. A 13-ball 24 from Shreyas Iyer helped India wrap up the game and win by 8 wickets to make it 1-1 in the series.
