Round up of Day 3 of the Specsavers County Championship Division 2 matches including Glamorgan v Northamptonshire, Derbyshire v Leicestershire, Kent v Middlesex and Durham v Warwickshire.

 

 

Leicestershire  beat Derbyshire by 6 wickets

Derbyshire 245 ( Wayne Madsen 80, Ben Slater 45; Callum Parkinson 3-50) and 181 (Matthew Critchley 86; Mohammad Abbas 6-54)

Leicestershire 297 (Paul Horton 88, Tony Palladino 4-64) and 133-4 (Paul Horton 48 , Colin Ackerman 58*)

Result Leicestershire won by 6 wickets

Derbyshire were bowled out for 181 in their 2nd innings, with Mohammad Abbas 6-54, doing the damage for Leicestershire.

In reply, Leicestershire knocked off the required runs with 6 wickets to spare - Paul Horton 48 , Colin Ackerman 58*

Kent  beat  Middlesex by 342 runs

Middlesex were in deep trouble overnight at 22-2 needing 445 runs to win against Kent.

Kent 241 (Adam Rouse 42; James Fuller 4-86)  and 281 (Grant Stewart 103; Ravi Patel 3-58, Hilton Cartwright 3-33,Tim Murtagh 3-54)

Middlesex 56  (Grant Stewart 6-22)  and 124 (Harry Podmore 6-36)

Result Kent won by 342 runs

Middlesex were quickly knocked over for 124 by the Kent bowlers and lost by 342 runs – Harry Podmore 6-36 taking the bulk of the wickets for Kent.

Glamorgan v Northamptonshire

Northamptonshire started their day on 169-0 with, Ben Duckett 111* and Luke Procter 50* leading Glamorgan by 196 runs with 10 wickets remaining in their 2nd innings.

Northamptonshire  281 (Vasconcelos 56 , Alex Wakely 82, Richard Levi 75;   van der Gugten 5-45)  and 406-9 dec   (Ben Duckett 133, Luke Procter 70, Vasconcelos 79,  Steven Crook 73; Ruaidhri Smith 4-75)

Glamorgan 254 (Usman Khawaja 103;Ben Sanderson 3-30, Nathan Buck 3-77) and 121-4

Some great batting from Northamptonshire today took them to 406-9 declared in their 2nd innings, Ben Duckett 133, Luke Procter 70, Vasconcelos 79 and Steven Crook 73  contributing well, with Ruaidhri Smith 4-75 the pick of the Glamorgan bowlers.

At the close , Glamorgan were  121-4, needing 313 runs to win with six 2nd innings wickets left.

Durham v Warwickshire 

 

Durham started the day on 138-2 trailing Warwickshire by 286 runs with 8 wickets remaining in their 1st innings.

Warwickshire 424 (Jonathan Trott 170*; Tim Ambrose 67; Chris Rushworth 4-101, Matthew Salisbury 4-111) and 152-5  (Jonathan Trott 53)

Durham 297 (Cameron Steel 51*, Tom Latham 50; Oliver Hannon-Dalby 4-61 )

Durham were eventually bowled out for 297, Oliver Hannon-Dalby 4-61 the pick of the Warwickshire bowlers.

In reply, Warwickshire were 152-5 at the close of play in their 2nd innings, leading Durham by 279 runs with 5 wickets remaining.
