WPL 2023: Royal Challengers Bangalore Women vs UP Warrioz Women, Match 8: Healy leads from the front

UP Warriorz raced to their second win in three games as the beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by a thumping 10 wickets in the Women's Premier League at the Brabourne Stadium on Friday.

After opting to bat, Bangalore was bowled out for 138 in 19.3 overs and in response UP chased down the target without any loss in 13 overs to finish on 139 for no loss. This was Bangalore's fourth straight loss.

Earlier, Bangalore was well served by a 44 run second wicket stand between Sophie Devine and Ellyse Perry. Thereafter, Perry took charge of the innings as she made 52 off 39 balls with six boundaries and a six. But none of the other batters provided any kind of support to Perry. She was left stranded and when she fell in the 17th over, the innings suffered. Towards the end Bangalore was bowled out for 138 in 19.3 overs. For UP, the best bowlers were Sophie Ecclestone (4-13) and Deepti Sharma (3-26).

In their response UP chased down the target in just 13 overs. Their openers captan Alyssa Healy and Devika Vaidya were not separated. Healy finished unbeaten on 96 off 47 balls with 18 boundaries and a six. Vaidya on the other hand made an unbeaten 36 off 31 balls with five boundaries.
