Delhi Capitals recently leapfrogged Chennai Super Kings to the top of the IPL 2021 points table and this is CSK's opportunity to reclaim the spot.

Live Scores and Stats - RR vs CSK IPL 2021 Match 32

CSK close to pocketing playoff qualification

A couple of more wins will all but guarantee playoff qualification for Chennai Super Kings, after which they can begin to experiment with their playing XI and give the likes of Robin Uthappa and Cheteshwar Pujara some opportunities. But, before that, the team would like to register a couple of victories, preferably in the next two matches to ensure themselves of a playoff spot.

CSK could have gained those handy two points from their last encounter against Mumbai Indians and they looked like doing it for the most part before Kieron Pollard went berserk and ran a tight double off the last ball to snatch victory from CSK's jaws.

Thakur, Ngidi leak runs

Despite that, CSK are in a very comfortable position. If at all, they might reconsider the spots of Shardul Thakur and Lungi Ngidi, both of whom were quite expensive in the last match.

Thakur, in particular, has conceded runs at an economy rate of over 10 RPO in the competition and despite his enhanced reputation post becoming a regular member of the Indian playing XI over the last few months, he will have to pull up his socks in order to retain his spot.

Lungi Ngidi has also given away runs at over 10 RPO but has also picked up 5 wickets from 3 outings and might get one more chance, with Dwayne Bravo already knocking on the door.

Buttler, Samson find form

In the absence of trump cards Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer, Rajasthan Royals are struggling to get going with 3 victories from 7 matches and have some catching up to do.

A good sign for them in the last match was Jos Buttler's return to form as the England opener clubbed 124 runs off just 64 deliveries with the help of 11 fours and 8 sixes, batting at a strike rate of 193.75. Sanju Samson has also played a couple of important hands recently.

Morris gets support from Mustafizur, Tyagi

With Kartik Tyagi forming a good bowling combination with Chetan Sakariya, Mustafizur Rahman and Chris Morris, Rajasthan are beginning to put it together.

Tyagi played his first match in IPL 2021 in Rajasthan's last encounter against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Although his figures of 4-0-32-1 might not suggest so, he was breathing fire. Cearly, the time spent with the Indian squad in Australia has had a big impact on the Under-19 find.

To consolidate their middle order, RR brought in Anuj Rawat in place of Shivam Dube in the last game, but unfortunately, he did not get to bat.
