SA20 Feature: Top Batter and Bowler to look out for from Durban Super Giants, Pretoria Capitals and Joburg Super Kings

The 1^st Edition of  South Africa's franchise T20 League – the SA20 - is scheduled to kick off on 10^th January 2023 with 6 teams taking part- MI Cape Town, Pretoria Capitals, Paarl Royals, Durban Super Giants, Johannesburg Super Kings and Sunrisers Eastern Cape.

Durban Super Giants:

Top Batter - Quinton de Kock

Quinton de Kock is one of the top white ball players in world cricket. His record on South African pitches is unmatchable. Quinton de Kock can take any team he plays for off to a flier and will surely do this for the Durban Super Giants as well.

The 30-year-old averages 32.93 in T20 cricket which is among the highest in the world. He also scores his runs at an impressive strike rate of 137.55.

He is a great player of both spin and fast bowling, making great use of his wrists and generating power with the bat flow. He will be a top batter to look out for in the Durban Super Giants line-up.

 

Top Bowler- Reece Topley:

The tall England fast bowler has made a great comeback to T20Is. Making his debut in 2015, he hasn’t been able to feature consistently for England due to recurring injury, however, Topley gave a brilliant performance against India in the T20I series and against Pakistan this year.

He was unfortunately injured again during the recent ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022, however, if he is fit again, Topley will prove to be a tough customer to the opposition teams.

 

 

Pretoria Capitals:

Top Batter - Rilee Rossouw

Rilee Rossouw has made a phenomenal comeback into the South Africa national side. He is an experienced campaigner who plays for T20 Franchises around the world.

Rossouw is currently in the form of his life and is fresh off a great T20 world cup as well. He also has also been in form in the Vitality T20 Blast earlier this year and followed this with superb performances against India in the T20I series.

He averages 31.07 in T20 cricket and holds a strike rate of 143.30. Considering the sort of record, he holds; he is certainly a top batter for Pretoria Capitals.

 

 

Top Bowler- Josh Little

The young Irish bowling sensation is in great form currently. In a very short career, he has impressed the cricket fraternity with his knack of picking up wickets at regular intervals.

The highlight of his career, so far, was at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022, where he picked up a hattrick against New Zealand.

Josh Little bowls with great accuracy and doesn't give much room to the batters to score freely. He will certainly be a top bowler for Pretoria Capitals.

 

 

Joburg Super Kings:

Top Batter- Faf Du Plessis

Although Faf Du Plessis has retired from International cricket he continues to score runs in T20 leagues around the world and is currently in Australia playing in BBL|12.

He holds an average of 30.99 in T20 cricket at a strike rate of 131.01.

He is aging like a fine wine and making his bat talk louder with the time passing by. Faf Du Plessis is an important member of the Joburg Super Kings squad and undoubtedly will be a batter to watch out for.

 

Top Bowler- Alzarri Joseph:

Alzarri Joseph is a consistent performer for West Indies at the International level. He is a tall fast paced bowler who can also bowl with precision line and length.

Despite West Indies' poor campaign at the recently concluded ICC Men's T20 World Cup, Alzarri Joseph did not disappoint anyone with his bowling figures. He fought very hard in losing causes.

Alzarri Joseph uses his height and pace to great effect. He can surprise the batters at any given time with his accurate bouncers. He will give his all for the Joburg Super Kings.
