Offering a healthy 12 million yen a year to the successful candidate, Sano City plans to bring new life to the regional town 80 km north of Tokyo, through developing into the home of Cricket in Japan.

Earlier this year, Sano City was awarded a national grant for the project and has already started a 400 m yen redevelopment project of the Sano International Cricket Ground (SICG).

The project manager will manage the SICG with a budget of around 50 m yen and will be tasked with the following:

•    Development of a vision and strategy of the project
•    Formation of a project team
•    Development of a business plan
•    Kick start an annual plan of cricket and promotion events

KPIs are:
•    Number of visitors to Sano
•    Scale of businesses attracted to Sano (economic impact and tax revenue)
•    Number of people who relocate to Sano
•    Development of a self-sufficient business within 3 years

Key challenges are:
•    Managing local and international stakeholders
•    Changing the legal status of the site which currently forbids operating a buisiness
•    Developing the SICG into a truly International standard facility
