Tour game, Sydney, day three
Sarah Taylor scored a determined 85 run knock as England Women went on to declare their second innings with a score of 305 following which Cricket Australia XI managed to notch 182 for seven before the three-day tour game in Sydney ended in a draw.
Earlier, England resumed the day with a score of 87 for three. Heather Knight (35) fell early but Natalie Sciver (35) along with Taylor (85 not out) consolidated the innings well to take them past the 150 run mark.
Even though Sciver fell, Taylor looked determined at one end while useful knocks from Fran Wilson (45) and Katherine Brunt (43 not out) ensured England Women went on to post 305 for seven before the declaration came.
Cricket Australia XI needed 265 runs in the final innings to claim a win but they lost Sophie Molineux (15) early in the innings.
Georgia Redmayne (27), Heather Graham (40) and Nicola Carey (52) all got starts to hold the innings but a double strike from Laura Marsh (2-44) dented their momentum following which Knight (3-12) struck thrice in as many overs to reduce the home side to 182 for seven before the game ended in a draw.
