Shpageeza 2020: Shinwari's experience does the trick for Eagles
Kabul Eagles registered a narrow two wicket win over Band-e-Amir Dragons in the Shpageeza T20 Cricket League at the Kabul International Cricket Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
After opting to field, Kabul Eagles restricted Band-e-Amir Dragons to 146 for five in their 20 overs. Eagles struck early reducing Dragons to 33 for three. Thereafter, Ibrahim Zadran (48: 41b, 3x4, 3x6) and Nasir Jamal (47: 41b, 2x4, 1x6) shared a 97 run fourth wicket stand. In the end Eagles finished at 146 for five.
The best bowlers for Eagles were Nijat Masood (2-36) and Ziaur Rahman (2-31).
The chase for Dragons did not start well. They lost wickets at regular intervals. It required a 39-run fifth wicket stand between Rahmanullah (11) and Samiullah Shinwari (58 n.o.: 38b, 3x4, 4x6) to get the chase back on track. It required Shinwari's experience to hold the innings together in the end. He stayed till the end and ensured the chase was successful for Eagles. They finished at 149 for eight to win by two wickets. Farhad Momand (3-21) was the best bowler for Dragons.
