Sliding & Diving with Chinmoy Roy

Chinmoy Roy joins Cricket World again, this time to share his fielding tips working on sliding and diving within the game.


  • One spring stump is placed at the start.
  • 25-30 metres from the start place another spring stump
  • One cricket ball is kept 4 feet apart from the sprint stump at the opposite end
  • One feeder stands with a cricket ball at the start


  • Sprint at full throttle from the start
  • Slide at least 5 feet away from the ball
  • Land softly on your knees
  • While chasing the ball and diving forward land softly by lowering your body
  • The lower the body falls from the ground the less impact force
  • Do the diving forward only if the surface is soft and grassy


  • After one rep rest for 1 minute
  • Do 10 repetitions
  • Rest for 5 minutes
  • Do 2-3 sets
