Smart Cricket Global Limited, a United Kingdom-based sports technology start-up on Saturday announced its first-ever official technology partnership.

SmartCricket.com, the brand of Smart Cricket Global Limited, has teamed up with Delhi Bulls, Abu Dhabi T10’s premier franchise during the ongoing fourth Season of Abu Dhabi T10.

The partnership will see top international players like Dwayne Bravo, Sherfane Rutherford, Ravi Bopara, Adam Lyth, Mohammad Nabi and Evin Lewis play in the Abu Dhabi T10 with BatSense, SmartCricket.com’s bat sensor which has the power to provide a wide range of data for every shot played.

It promises to showcase data about the bat speed, back lift angle, follow through angle, bat speed at impact and a host of other batting parameters of top international cricketers for millions to follow and emulate.

BatSense is driven by an Intel-powered chip that ensures data accuracy and high-performance data results. Apart from the device that captures the data, the product comes equipped with a sleeve to mount the device onto the bat, a key to lock the sensor into the sleeve and a USB charging cable to power the device. The device has a supporting app, the SmartCricket.com app, that provides a plethora of features which enable players and coaches to train smarter and better.

The device which made its first appearance at the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 held in the England and Wales, where it was used by several superstars of the game, is now available for use of everyone. It can now be purchased both online and offline.

“Cricket technology has so far been largely focused only on broadcast,” said Atul Srivastava, Founder of Smart Cricket Global Limited. “There was very limited technology that could actually help players monitor and improve their game. We are bringing IOT based technology with our bouquet of Smart equipment, starting with BatSense, to change the way cricket is played across the world. Technology has a major role to play in improving the all-round quality of cricket and BatSense is going to revolutionise its use in cricket. Our goal is to democratise data and make it easily accessible to anyone who loves the game, whether he is a young aspiring cricketer or a professional cricketer. It will be a game changer in every sense”

The experience and the feedback from all the players who have used BatSense in the Delhi Bulls squad has been exhilarating and very encouraging.

“Sometimes you think you played a perfect shot and timed it perfectly. With BatSense you can know for sure. And that is amazing,” said Dwayne Bravo, captain of Delhi Bulls on his first experience of BatSense.

Andy Flower, one of the most respected coaches in the world and current Delhi Bulls Head Coach, said: “Talent is inborn but performance can be changed dramatically with technology. The art of fine batting can now be taught with the precision of science and BatSense is the way for the unlocking of that talent.”

“We recognise the need for cricket to embrace technology and are aligned to the vision of Smart Cricket Global Ltd. to use it to improve cricket at all levels starting from the grass root to the professional level,” said Neelesh Bhatnagar, said Delhi Bulls Team Owner. “Delhi Bulls is proud to be the first to use this as a team to understand stats of batting parameters like never before.”

BatSense is the first step in a comprehensive roadmap of cutting-edge cricket technology that the company is creating in its mission to revolutionise the game. Similar smart devices are under development for measuring performance through other cricketing equipment including ball, helmet and shoes.

The SmartCricket.com app is available to download for free on the App Store and Play Store.
