After dismissing Yorkshire for 213 runs, Tim Rouse and Jim Hildreth scored fifties in the second innings for Somerset as they stretched the lead to 289 runs with seven wickets in hand at stumps on day three.

Yorkshire resumed the day at 159 for seven. Adil Rashid (49) scored a valiant knock while Liam Plunkett (19) and Ben Coad (15) also played useful knocks to add 54 runs to their overnight score before being dismissed for 213 runs.

In their second innings, Yorkshire started confidently with Marcus Trescothick (27) and Edward Byrom (40) sharing a 53 run stand.

Even though both fell with a score of 80 on the board, Rouse (69) and Hildreth (85 not out) shared a 144 run partnership for the third wicket to take the scores past the 200-run mark.

Yorkshire managed to dismiss Rouse at the stroke of stumps by which Somerset were placed 234 for three, stretching the lead to 289 runs.
