Tour game, Adelaide, day two
Match drawn

A combined destructive performance from the South African bowlers dismissed Cricket Australia XI for just 103 after which Rilee Rossuw scored a breezy 77 at stumps on day two with the tour game in Adelaide ended in a draw.

The Cricket Australia XI were exposed to some fine quality of pace bowling as nine of their batsmen were dismissed in single digit scores.

Skipper Matthew Short (57) was the only positive for the home team as he waged a lone fight with his 61-ball knock which included 10 boundaries. The second highest score in the innings was from Ben McDermott (6).

Dale Steyn (2-9), Vernon Philander (2-13), Kagiso Rabada (2-28), Kyle Abbott (2-16) and Morne Morkel (2-27) shared the wickets equally.

South Africa decided not to enforce the follow on and after losing Stephen Cook (12) and Dean Elgar (11) early, the spectators were treated by a blinder of innings from Rossouw (77) retired out. His knock came in 84 deliveries and included nine boundaries and three sixes.

Faf du Plessis (20) and Temba Bavuma (21) got starts but failed to carry on, though JP Duminy (32 not out) once again played a solid innings. With South Africa reaching 181 for five at the end of the day, the two-day game ended in a draw.
