Kyle Abbott picked two wickets on the final day as South Africa dismissed Sri Lanka for 281 to complete a 206-run victory in the first Test in Port Elizabeth to take a 1-0 lead in the series.
Sri Lanka resumed the day at 240 for five. Abbott (2-38) struck in his second over of the day to dismiss Angelo Mathews (59) LBW. The Sri Lankan skipper used a review but went in vain.
Dhananjaya de Silva (22) too failed to carry on from yesterday as he became Abbott's second victim while it was also Sri Lanka's second failed review of the innings.
Kagiso Rabada (3-77) joined the action after he induced an edge of Dushmantha Chameera (0) after Vernon Philander (1-65) held a brilliant return catch to send Rangana Herath (3) packing.
In his second over of the day, Keshav Maharaj (3-86) castled Nuwan Pradeep (4) to dismiss Sri Lanka for 281 in 96.3 overs.
The 206-run win has taken South Africa to a 1-0 lead in the series with Stephen Cook winning the man of the match for his knocks of 59 and 117 in the game.
