South Africa Happy With Test Warm-Up
South Africa completed a draw with a Composite XI in their three-day warm-up game ahead of the first Test against Australia, with a number of key questions answered.
Dale Steyn made a successful return to bowling after his rib injury, AB de Villiers batted for the first time since his hand operation and there was a century for Faf du Plessis on the final day.
After JP Duminy retired hurt yesterday he has been diagnosed with tendonitis in his left wrist but should resume training later in the week.
Coach Russell Domingo said he was pleased with the way the game, held in Johannesburg, had gone for his team.
"We are happy with some of the batting obviously," he said.
"Faf got a 100, the captain batted for an hour and a half and the lower order which is going to be important against Australia all spent some valuable time out in the middle.
"The bowlers bowled quick and decent spells so I'm very happy with what we have achieved over the last few days," he added.
The first Test against Australia begins at Centurion Park on 12th February.
