Fourth One-Day International in Coffs Harbour

South Africa Women lost six wickets in the final 10 overs while chasing a target of 243 and eventually ended the fourth One-Day International against Australia Women with a tie in Coffs Harbour.

Australia won the toss and elected to bat first and they lost Beth Mooney (14) and Meg Lanning (3) early.

Nicole Bolton (63) and Ellyse Perry (69) added 80 runs together to take Australia past the 100-run mark. Sune Luus (4-37) brought South Africa back into the game by removing both the set players and also Jess Jonassen (1).

Alex Blackwell (35) and Elyse Villani (24) provided the late flourish as Australia managed to score 242 before they were bowled out.

South Africa had a poor start to their innings after they lost Lizelle Lee (12), Luus (18), Lara Goodall (2) and Mignon du Preez (5) and were restricted to 40 for four.

Marizanne Kapp (66) and Dane van Niekerk (81) brought South Africa back into the game with their 144-run stand. With both players set, South Africa brought down the required runs to 62 from 54 deliveries.

Van Niekerk struck three more boundaries as South Africa needed 27 runs off the final 30 deliveries with five wickets in hand, all of which they lost and eventually settled for a tie.

Jonassen (3-37) was the pick of the Australian bowlers. Van Niekerk bagged the player of the match but the series was already clinched by Australia 3-0 with one more game to go.
