The roundup of the third day’s play in the SpecSavers County Championship Division 2 matches – Northamptonshire v Leicestershire, Gloucestershire v Kent, Warwickshire v Glamorgan and Durham v Derbyshire.

Gloucestershire v Kent, Brightside County Ground, Bristol

Gloucestershire were bowled out for 240 in their first innings, adding 196 to their overnight score of 44-4, they were then asked to follow on by Kent skipper, Joe Denly and were 73-0 at the close.

Kent 582-9 (Daniel Bell Drummond 49, Sean Dickson 117, Joe Denly 107, Darren Stevens 89, Adam Rouse 55, Harry Podmore 53 )

Gloucestershire   240 (Graeme van Buuren 83,  Kieran Noema-Barnett 73*; Matt Henry 6-59) follow on 73-0 at close of play and  Gloucestershire trail Kent by 269 runs with 10 wickets remaining.

Graeme van Buuren 83, and Kieran Noema-Barnett 73* scored the runs for Gloucestershire in their 1st Innings and Matt Henry 6-54 was the pick of the Kent bowlers.


Warwickshire v Glamorgan, Edgbaston, Birmingham

Glamorgan made 323 all out in the 2nd innings of their SpecSavers County Championship Division 2 match today at Edgbaston, giving them a lead of 269 over Warwickshire at close of play.

Glamorgan 220 (David Lloyd 39; Josh Poysden 5-29) and 323 (Usman Khawaja 125, Chris Cooke 59, Nick Selman 42; Henry Brookes 3-70 , Chris Wright 3-59)

Warwickshire 250 (Ian Bell 106*, Jonathan Trott 57; Timm van der Gugten 4-65) and 25-0 at close of play.

Glamorgan’s Usman Khawaja scored a brilliant 125, supported by Chris Brooke 59 to enable them to reach 323,Henry Brookes 3-70 and Chris Wright 3-59 were the pick of the Warwickshire bowlers.


Durham v Derbyshire, Emirates Riverside Ground, Chester-le-Street

Durham added 221 to their overnight score of 155-6, being bowled out for 376, thanks to a stirling hundred from Gareth Harte (114) who was well supported by Nathan Rimmington (42).

Derbyshire 205 (Matthew Critchley 38 ; Chris Rushworth 3-57)

South African pacer, Duanne Olivier took 5-105, adding to his 5-20 in the first innings.

In reply, Derbyshire were 69-4 needing 199 runs to win. Durham’s Chris Rushworth took 2-22.



Leicestershire beat Northamptonshire by 6 wickets

Leicestershire beat Northamptonshire by six wickets in their SpecSavers County Championship Division 2 match on day three.

Northamptonshire 204 (Ricardo Vasconcelos 49; Zak Chappell 6-44) and 229 (Alex Wakely 74)

Leicestershire 217 (Colin Ackermann 44, Neil Dexter 45, Zak Chappell 40; Rory Kleinveldt 4-51) and 217-4 (Lewis Hill 85, Paul Horton 62, Colin Ackermann 42*)
