The round up of the first day's play in the SpecSavers County Championship Division 2 matches – Kent v Warwickshire, Leicestershire v Middlesex, Sussex v Durham, Glamorgan v Derbyshire, Northamptonshire v Gloucestershire.
Kent v Warwickshire
Warwickshire won the toss and elected to bowl at the Nevill Ground, Tunbridge Wells this morning against hosts Kent.
Kent 197 (Joe Denly 59; Keith Barker 5-32) 4-0 at the close of play
Warwickshire 125 (Jonathan Trott 51*; Harry Podmore 4-26, Matt Henry 4-54)
Kent were bowled out for 197 in their first innings, mainly due to fine spell of bowling from Warwickshire’s Keith Barker 5-32. Heino Kuhn 39 and Darren Stevens 27 chipped in with some runs as Kent lost wickets regularly.
In reply, Warwickshire were bowled out for 125, despite a battling 51* from Jonathan Trott, Harry Podmore 4-26 and Matt Henry 4-54 doing the damage for Kent. At the close, Kent had started their second innings and were 4-0.
Leicestershire v Middlesex
Leicestershire won the toss and decided to bat at the Fischer County Ground, Grace Road, Leicester against Middlesex this morning.
Leicestershire 353-8 (Colin Ackerman 151*, Neil Dexter 66 ; Tim Murtagh 5-52 )
Colin Ackermann 151* batted brilliantly, supported by Neil Dexter 66 and Ben Raine, in particular, after a shaky start from the Leicestershire batsmen had them 65-3. Leicestershire were 353-8 at the close, Tim Murtagh 5-52 was the pick of the Middlesex bowlers.
Sussex v Durham
Durham won the toss and decided to bowl at Arundel Castle, Arundel against Sussex this morning.

Sussex 439-5 (Philip Salt 130,Tom Haines 124, Harry Finch 56, Ben Brown 50* ) at close of play
After Luke Wells was out early, Philip Salt 130 and Tom Haines 124 put on 244 for the second wicket and Sussex closed the day on 439-5, with Harry Finch 56 and Ben Brown 50* scoring half centuries as well. Matthew Salisbury 3-102 was the pick of the Durham bowlers.
Glamorgan v Derbyshire
Glamorgan won the toss and elected to bat at St. Helen's, Swansea against Derbyshire, after a damp start this morning.
Glamorgan 175-7 (Chris Cooke 69;Tony Palladino 4-49)
Glamorgan batted sluggishly through the afternnon after a delayed start and never really got going and were 175-7 at the close of play. Tony Palladino 4-49 was the pick of the Derbyshire bowlers.
Northamptonshire v Gloucestershire
Gloucestershire won the toss and elected to field at the County Ground, Northampton this afternoon in this day/night encounter against Northamptonshire.
Northamptonshire 282 (Ben Duckett 52, Luke Proctor 70, Richard Levi 63; Matt Taylor 4-70)
Northamptonshire batted well in parts, Ben Duckett 52, Luke Proctor 70 and Richard Levi 63 all getting half centuries, however, they were not able to kick on from there and Northamptonshire were eventually all out for 282. Matt Taylor 4-70 was the pick of the Gloucestershire bowlers.
In reply, Gloucestershire were 25-1 at the close.
