The Indian spinners shared eight wickets between as they dismissed England for 158 in the final innings on day five of the second Test in Visakhapatnam to secure a massive 246-run victory and a 1-0 lead in the series.

England started the day at 87 for two, needing another 318 runs to win. The third over of the day saw Virat Kohli dropping a tough chance off Joe Root (25) at second slip.

Ben Duckett's (0) 16-ball vigil continued as he was dismissed for the third consecutive time by Ravichandran Ashwin (3-52). This time he was caught at short leg.

Moeen Ali (2) and Root almost batted for 10 overs and scored just nine runs combined. However, Ali was caught at leg slip off Ravindra Jadeja (2-35). By the end of the first hour, England were placed at 110 for four.

Ben Stokes (6) had a rare failure as he was castled by Jayant Yadav (6) while Mohammad Shami (2-30) accounted for the wickets of Root and Adil Rashid (4) in quick succession.

Jonny Bairstow (33 not out) held one end up and scored five boundaries as England went into lunch at 142 for seven.

It took India just 41 more deliveries in the second session to wrap up England as Zafar Ansari (0) was castled by Ashwin and Jayant removed Stuart Broad (5) and James Anderson (0) to dismiss England for 158.

The 246-run victory allowed India take a 1-0 lead in the five-match series. Kohli was awarded the man of the match for his knocks of 167 and 81 runs in the game.
