Warm-up match, Dubai

Fluent knocks from Johnson Charles and Nicholas Pooran helped West Indies post a total of 166 for seven before the spinners tied down Emirates Cricket Board XI to 144-6 in 20 overs to register a comfortable 22-run win in the warm-up encounter in Dubai.

Batting first after winning the toss, West Indies lost regular wickets up front and were reduced to 48 for three in 6.2 overs.

Charles (42) played a solid hand at the start but fell soon after the half-way mark. It was here that Rovman Powell (38) and Pooran (47 not out) shared a 52-run stand to give the team a good platform to mount a finish.

The fall of Powell resulted in two more wickets towards the death but Pooran accelerated and stayed unbeaten to push West Indies to 166 for seven in 20 overs.

In the chase, Emirates Cricket Board XI lost two early wickets as Samuel Badree (3-20) struck in the second and fourth overs.

Mohammad Qasim (46) and Shaiman Anwar (31) put on a solid 73-run stand for the third wicket, keeping the chase on course.

However, the momentum was dented as Sunil Narine (2-21) struck twice in the 13th over to remove Anwar and Rameez Shahzad (0).

Emirates Cricket Board XI found it tough to keep up with the asking rate towards the death and only managed to score 144 for six in 20 overs, succumbing to a 22-run defeat.
