Despite playing their first match of the season at the MA Chidambaram Stadium recently, Delhi Capitals were successful in cracking the Chennai code and breaking the Mumbai hoodoo.

Live Scores and Stats - SRH v DC - Match 20

Mishy makes a mark

The star for them was veteran leg spinner Amit Mishra who picked up 4 wickets, including that of Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard to break the back of the Mumbai batting lineup.

He got good support from Avesh Khan who picked up two wickets and Lalit Yadav who was extremely economical for his one wicket.

Axar Patel relinks with DC squad

News is that all rounder Axar Patel has rejoined the Delhi camp and is available for selection after recovering from a bout of COVID-19. However, it is unlikely for Delhi to slot him into the playing XI right away, which gives Lalit Yadav an extended run.

Anrich Nortje is also ready and waiting in the wings. However, the combination of Delhi is such that at the moment, they are not expected to include the tearaway in their playing XI.

Delhi's bench strength

Delhi have decided to play both Steve Smith and Shimron Hetmyer for the time being and that is expected to work fine for them.

They also have the likes of Chris Woakes, Ishant Sharma, Tom Curran, Sam Billings, Umesh Yadav and Ajinkya Rahane on the bench which is some serious quality to possess in the reserves.

Hyderabad open account

Sunrisers Hyderabad openers starred in the last match, registering a comprehensive victory over Punjab Kings by 9 wickets. It was an all-round bowling effort from Hyderabad which helped restrict Punjab Kings to 120.

Hyderabad chased it down comfortably with Jonny Bairstow top scoring with 63 off 56 balls. Hyderabad are struggling to find their best XI. They opted to go for Kane Williamson, Jonny Bairstow, captain David Warner and Rashid Khan as their four overseas players in the last match and are expected to stick with them.

No Pandey, Samad

An injury to Abdul Samad has meant that Kedar Jadhav and Virat Singh have found a place in the playing XI. Dropping Manish Pandey might also have added a lot more flexibility to the Hyderabad batting line up.

Courtesy of being balanced both with the bat and ball, Delhi Capitals start clear favourites.
