Sri Lanka-New Zealand T20I Washed Out
Sri Lanka v New Zealand - match abandoned
First Twenty20 International, Pallekele
The first Twenty20 International between Sri Lanka and New Zealand in Pallekele was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to rain.
Rain affected all three of the One-Day Internationals the two sides recently played, also resulting in the opening game in Hambantota being washed out.
In Pallekele, it was a very similar situation and as the rain continued to fall on an already sodden ground, the decision to call the game off was made almost 90 minutes before the cut-off time to get a five-over game underway.
The two sides are scheduled to complete the series with the second Twenty20 game at the same venue on Thursday 21st November.
So it might be a while before we see some action... #SLvNZ ^CE pic.twitter.com/nhveWsDi0R
