Sri Lanka President's XI 325-7 (Priyanjan 65) beat
Pakistanis 290-8 (M Hafeez 54) by 13 runs (D/L)
One-day tour game, Moratuwa

The Sri Lanka President's XI beat the Pakistanis by 13 runs in Misbah-ul-Haq's side's only warm-up game ahead of a three-match One-Day International series against Sri Lanka.

In Moratuwa, a high-scoring game saw the President's XI post 325 for seven and the Pakistanis score 290 for eight in 46.2 overs in reply.

They were unable to complete their innings, resulting in a Duckworth/Lewis method win for the hosts.

Ashan Priyanjan (65), Kithuruwan Vithanage (56), Thisara Perera (52 not out) and Dhanushka Gunathilleke (51) all scored half-centuries for the Sri Lankans while wicket-keeper Dinesh Chandimal also made 37.

Mohammad Hafeez took four for 44, Mohammad Talha two for 54 and Wahab Riaz one for 65 for Pakistan.

In reply, Hafeez top scored with 54 as every Pakistan batsman, with the exception of Umar Akmal (7) spent time at the crease and got at least a start.

That Ahmed Shehzad (39), Misbah (38), and Shahid Afridi (37) could go no further proved to be the decisive factor in the game as they closed just short.

That was largely thanks to a brace of wickets apiece from Perera, Suraj Randiv and Dushmantha Chameera.

When the match was abandoned, Pakistan would have needed to have scored 304 to win.

The first ODI, in Hambantota, is on Saturday 23rd August.
