Openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz (53) and Ibrahim Zadran (106) guide Afghanistan to a 60 run win over Sri Lanka in the 1st ODI today at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Kandy.

Afghanistan won the toss and elected to bat, openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz (53) and Ibrahim Zadran (106) smashing a half-century and century respectively.

Rahmat Shah (52) would later join the fray and add his own half century, Afghanistan looking in a good spot.

Wanindu Hasaranga (2/42) fought back with the ball but Afghanistan headed in at 294/8.

In response, despite best efforts from Pathum Nissanka (85) and Wanindu Hasaranga (66) it wasn't enough as Afghanistan won by 60 runs.
