England and Wales Cricket Board has announced that all-rounder Ben Stokes will not be travelling with the rest of the Ashes squad to Australia.

The Durham all-rounder along with opening batsman Alex Hales has been suspended by the England board following an altercation in Bristol last weekend following which they were arrested and released under investigation.

A statement released by the England board stated that they are yet to take a final decision on Stokes' participation in the all-important five-match Test series against Australia, even though he was named as the vice-captain when the squad announcement came.

Middlesex pace bowler Steven Finn has been added to the squad as a cover and will depart to Australia will rest of his England team-mates on 28th October.

The first Test will begin in Brisbane on 23rd November and will be followed by a day-night encounter at Adelaide Oval on 2nd December. Perth, Melbourne and Sydney will host the final three games of the series.
